The Anti-Confidence

I have officially submitted my very first article for The Well Written Woman. I had this moment of euphoria after I submitted it, then the self-doubt started. I am so nervous about it. I actually think it is good. Really good. But what if it isn't? Oh I hate that inner critic. Why can't I just feel confident in my abilities?
I even think, if I think it is good, and it isn't, does that make me stupid? Conceited? Do I have any right to even think it is good, either way? Ridiculous circular thinking...

And then if someone tells me it is good, do they really think it is good or are they just saying that to keep from hurting my feelings?

Why do I second guess myself? Why do I not believe others when they compliment me on something? Why do I automatically think something I do is just not good, or feel weird about thinking it is good?

What is that? And how do I change it?
